The EUDAT Conference 2024 took place from 3 to 5 December 2024 in Karlsruhe. It provided a forum for the latest developments in research data management and enabling tools and solutions.
Martin Golasowski and Jan Martinovič from IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center led the session “Strengthening Connections Between HPC and Data Management Solutions & Data Orchestration”, which provided a concise overview of issues in data management utilising high-performance computing.
Martin Golasowski explained data management from an HPC point of view and introduced the LEXIS Platform 2, mentioning the OpenWebSearch.eu and the Ligate Project as example use cases. Philippe Deniel from CEA presented the outcomes from the IO-SEA project for the European software storage stack, and Mohamad Hayek from Leibniz Supercomputing Centre explored Distributed Data Space Management in the EXA4MIND project. Martin Golasowski also took this opportunity to introduce the B2SAFE service to users and outlined its development roadmap in the “EUDAT Service Showcase and Overview” session. In 2024, IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center was appointed as the service owner of B2SAFE within EUDAT. His presentation was complemented by a poster on the same topic during the poster session, where he answered questions from the present attendees.
